Thank you for the suggestions Rob & Timmon. Timmon those are great ideas! I actually think I have some of my earlier stuff 2004, 2005, & 2006 on disc! LOL.....That should be funny to look at, the changes over the years. I'll start working on that this week!
Thanks again!
Thanks Roberto! I'll do my best to answer questions in a timely manner! :-)
Thank you for the guide Rob. May I call you Rob or do you prefer Roberto? I'll get started this week. Already nominated a Fitness Goddess of the month for July! I wasn't sure if it was too late to do that or not. The polls were still open.
Thanks again!
Some month ago I have seen a video of your routine, In my opinion it's really an amazing routine and you pose really well. I suggest to you to post this video on your site. I'm sure it will have a big success.
Thanks Rob! I thought about doing that also. I'm not sure if my web site will support video so I thought about putting it on You Tube and having a link to it.
Okay,
So I took some pictures this weekend and honestly they are not even worth posting. There isn't much change at all from the pictures that I took in March that are posted under the progress area for competitors. There isn't going to be much to look at physique wise until I start dieting down. Otherwise all the pics just look the same. If something changes I'll post it.

Rob I was 116lbs at the Washington State show which was the week before the USA's. I weighed in at 112.5 at the USA's. I cut water twice at the USA's to make the light weight class. Why do you ask?
Just wanted to let all the members know that I have added the 2005 year to our web site photo gallery as well as a routine section where I have posted a link to my 2008 USA's routine. Enjoy!
Hello Laura
i would like to know what kind of guys you like.

And what u think about Boys who are small and skinny

20abreha20:
Thanks for asking. I have always been partial to men with a bigger build, not necessarily muscular, but bigger. My husband is a very big man at 6ft tall and hovering around 250lbs. I think physical attraction is important whether your big or skinny. Chemistry is very important too. I don't really think much of small or skinny men because I'm married. Does that answer your question?
Are you be able to take you routine from your discs with VirtualDub?
Here are some pictures from today. Currently I'm sitting at 134 and 10.2% body fat

I wish my biceps were like Charla's! ;D
I wish my biceps were like Charla's! ;D
I'm sure you can near enough to the biceps of Charla Sedacca, You have an amazing determination. There are many bodybuilder that have no time for entirely devoting to this sport when she have a family, you are 6 sons but you find time to dedicated on this sport. This show a great passion for this sport. When there is a great passion the goal are much more easy to get.
By the way I have seen your latest video where you pose for the site diymuscle. I like very much the moment where you flex your biceps until they shake. This is the way of pose who like to the lovers on this sport. Continue to pose in that way
Hey Laura, how many mass do you want gain within the end of the year? i think you could fix your goal at 145/150 lbs within the end of this year
Hey Laura, how many mass do you want gain within the end of the year? i think you could fix your goal at 145/150 lbs within the end of this year
Rob I want lean mass gain. At this point slow and steady wins the race and saves the joints of the body. I'm looking to add another 6 pounds of lean muscle which means I'll come in at 125 contest after cutting water. I stay within 15 pounds of contest weight so I don't think I'll be going up to 145 - 150. I could see getting up to 138-140 before cutting for our first show.
Okay,Hi Laura, I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking "Every picture taken of you is worth posting, Laura!" You certainly are making fantastic progress. Thanks again foir sharing your pics.

A friend of mine brought this European bodybuilder to my attention. Does anyone know much about Zuzana Korinkova?
Here is her site. I cannot read it though.
http://www.zuzanakorinkova.com/Fotky.aspx
Thanks Rob! She was big & balanced! I'm surprised that she didn't place better at the Olympia's. But then again, she was competing against Lenda Murrey. ;DI'm agree with you. In my opinion she is one of the most valid bodybuilders of the history. It's a sin she have never compete at the Olympia
She actually did compete at the Olympia's twice. She competed in 1993 (placed 19th) and she also competed in the Master's Olympia in 1995 (placed 7th). It seems so weird to me that the Olympia use to have that many competitors and now it only has like 9 to 13. I think the IFBB needs to start giving out more pro cards to FBB.
hi laura , we should expect new progress pic soon ? thx u for let ur fans be part of this journey
The IFBB/NPC has decided that next year will be the last year for Female Bodybuilding in the federation. They are replacing the division with Women's Physique which will start next year. Women's Physique will have more muscle than current day figure competitors and less muscle then current day bodybuilders. All the posing will be done in heels too.
So this leaves me to the next question. Should I compete as a bodybuilder for the last time or should I start focus on keeping my physique where it is at so that I'll be more in line with the Women's Physique? There are going to be a minimum of 6 pro qualifiers next year for this and I think the new division is going to fill up fast! The example of physique that was given was Lada Philalova. Any thoughts anyone?

Any new photos Lada from your USA travel?
Hello Lada! It's nice to hear from you. Yes, I saw that you are bigger than me. I'm almost 5'3 but no where near your weight on or off season. I have been trying to attain that higher weight so that I can fill out my frame a bit and move up to the middle weights but I don't know if I'll be able to attain that for this next competition year. I plan on continuing the path that I was on for bodybuilding. I still have room to grow and stay competitive in bodybuilding. If I need to make changes than I will.
You have a gorgeous physique. I would love to see you compete in the physique division in the IFBB. I have not seen you compete on stage yet. I look forward to meeting you some day. Thanks for your response, and have a good week.
Cheers,
Laura Boisacq
The IFBB will promote the natural bodybuilders on the future? Have I understand well Lada?
I'm happy to your decision Laura. I want see you compete in bodybuilding more in shape than ever

No you understand badly.... they want to make NEW division - so women will have bikini - figure(fitness) - physique - bodybuilding. In new division girls may be smaller and not so hard - so many of them may achieve it naturally, off course. The prefered look is NOT GIVEN YET, all is in beggining, anyway probbably will be the look of bodybuilders of late 80ties and half 90ties....... PROBBABLY.
We all have to wait.
Anyway the gap between figure and BB is huge now and many girls do not fit to figure anymore but in BB they are classified down because of size. Therefore will be catghegory between, more faminine than FBB but more muscular than Figure.
For me it is a good idea. Will bring more bodytypes back on stage.
Prep is going well, thank you for asking. My baby will be totally weened tomorrow so I expect to see some good hardening as soon as the hormones level out. I'm pretty lean already. I have striations in my shoulders & chest. Good lines in my legs that are deep and will get deeper as I continue to lean out. I'm sitting around 9.5% right now and as of tomorrow I will be 14 weeks out from our first show, NPC's Emerald Cup in Washington. Wish me luck and I'll see about getting some progress pics posted! :-)
I can see only the photo of your back biceps pose. Do you have posted three photos?
I also posted a back lat spread. I can see it on my end. I wonder why it doesn't show on your end.

Ok now I see it. You seem more big than in the last contest in 2009. How many lbs do you have gained?
wow 4 pounds is a lot on your frame, hard to do especially after a pregnancy wreaks havoc on your hormones lol, congrats and keep up the good work. Nice to see a female bb interacting so closely with the fans :)
You are looking great Laura! Thanks for the updates, I think you are an amazing mum. You must have a military style routine to get everything done and have time to train.
I'm just 15800 weeks out from my first contest, by the way..... :-[
Hello Laura do you know the FIBO the biggest trade show for fitness, wellness and health in Europe?
Beautiful routine, Laura!Thank you Jaf! Yes, both Shawn & I have put on more size since 2008. We try to fill out our frame as much as we can while maintaining symmetry and asthetics. We choose poses for our routine that show our strengths and hide our weaknesses. I am glad you enjoyed it. Let's hope the judges at the Emerald Cup enjoy it as well. :-)
You and Shawn have beautiful, aesthetic lines; and I think that your routine; and the poses that you chose, merely accentuates both of your aesthetics.
Have you both put on lean mass since last year? (It seems so).
Do you and Shawn try to emphasize aesthetics over "mass simply for the sake of mass"?
GREAT job, guys!

Hello Rob! Yes I have heard of FIBO. Why do you ask?
new photo shoot is awesome-you look incredible laura
You are very improved Laura especially in legs and biceps. Do you want reaching the biceps of Charla Sedacca? ;)

Thank you Timmon!!! We are getting ready for National's right now. Wish us luck!! :-) Going for the Pro Card. I will end up competing in the middle weight class this year. :-)
The look and the good proportions are very importants. I don't like the bodybuilder who think only to put more mass possible without care the others aspects. Good luck for your "new adventure"!

Thank you Rob. Well as of today I am sitting at 141 and 9.6%. So we will see what happens with my weight class. I'm going to try for middle weight but focus on the "look". I want to be full, conditioned, and balanced.
who is the black girl?Tomefafa Ameko, she came second.
I'm still hoping that Physique will work to bring new FBB's and rejuvinate the sport at the top
Rob, the difference is just in the flexing
Please Laura reflect well before passing from this controversial category. It's a big step back on your physique condition and you can be disappointed by choosen of judges. What's the reason you want compete in this category?QuoteI'm still hoping that Physique will work to bring new FBB's and rejuvinate the sport at the top
At this moment it's the reverse. Physique category are removing some new athletes from bodybuilding.
Some example:
Marina Lopez, Rita Rae and on of the best new faces like Cindy Phillips and Katka Kyptova. I'm sure all those athletes will be disappointed from the results in this new categoryQuoteRob, the difference is just in the flexing
yes, I'm agree. Furthermore IMO fitness and figure category are superior for regardings the condition respect to Physique category. It's sufficient compare the abs or the definition for understand it.
Physique category is an intermediate step for passing from fitness to bodybuilding? In the major parts of the cases is a step for turning back also for fitness/figure category.
In this new category the mass and definition are too much penalized
A famous example

IMO the parameters of judgment will be very changed
A Physique category standard should be Lindsay Mulinazzi, the right compromise among fitness and bodybuilding

I'm going to help Laura out. I'm an expert on back training.Wow Laura great job. Was just looking at some shots of you from the Emerald compared to Nationals and your upper body has filled out nicely in the last few months, particularly those lats - my goodness your back has widened a LOT. I'm not sure Shawn is going to want to pose with you anymore ;D Check these side by sides:

I'm agree
Bad luck Laura. As you and we feared, not a good first outing at the New York Pro Physique, 16th place. Following on from wins in FBB contests last year, I hope you can fine tune your physique to what the judges are looking for, and not be disheartened . The winners were mainly ex figure, which continues the trend of Figure athletes tending to have a better foundation to move up to Physique, and it being much harder for FBB's to shed enough size, and yet come in sharp, just short of shredded, to meet the requirements of the judges. For FBB's, it must be like starting again from scratch.

Hi Laura,
I'm new to this thread but I saw your pictures a year ago and immediately found you had something special, apart from your exceptional muscles of course : Perfect proportion, beautiful features, great smile, something of Julia Roberts maybe :) ... definitively.
You say you are 40 and have 5 children (congratulation you look 25 with none); obviously your muscles are more developped than 3 years ago but did your physical strength also increased in these 3 years ? Do you still legpress 10x1055lbs ! Personally I feel that muscles keep up fine with aging, I'm 40 too, but joins require more warming up and attention. How do you feel having had children impacted on your muscle growth and quality ?
Thank you, Rob, Timmon and the others for posting all those great pictures.
Pat
Hello Rob and Timmon,
No at this time I have no plans to compete. I'm focused on finishing my degree in Special Education and perhaps when that is finished I will be able to focus on competing. Thank you for checking in on me, it's appreciated. Should things change, I'll let you know.

Thank you for the love and support. I am officially retired. This was my last show. I appreciate all the positive feed back over the years from everyone and wish you all the best. Cheers!
