Both were bodybuilders and lived in Dubai most of the year. The image was posted on a Facebook group, Latinos in Spain, which had shared the couple's whereabouts unknown since last Saturday.
A 43-year-old woman , Zunilda HM , was found dead this Thursday in a house in the Malaga town of Fuengirola , allegedly murdered by her partner , a 46-year-old man, Jarrod G. , who later committed suicide , according to sources close to the investigation consulted by the EFE agency.

Twelve hours ago, a Facebook group, Latinos in Spain, shared a post with photos of the couple, whose whereabouts were unknown since last Saturday. "The couple was staying at Higuerón West Dream Apartment. They were last seen on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Family and friends are distraught without any news of their lives," the group wrote. Finally, the worst news was confirmed.

They were both bodybuilders and lived in Dubai.
The incident actually took place in the Higuerón West residential area, where National Police officers and 061 personnel arrived on Thursday and confirmed the death of the two people inside the home.

The couple, of Colombian origin , were professional bodybuilders and lived mostly in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) . The man also had American citizenship , the same sources explained.

The alert was issued after the woman's disappearance was reported by a friend last Wednesday at the Torremolinos Police Station . Following this report, officers responded to the building where the incident occurred at around 1:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Inside the home, police found the woman's lifeless body , with clear signs of violence , and the man's body, with signs suggesting suicide . An autopsy will confirm the exact circumstances of the death.

She would be the fifth victim of gender violence in Andalusia this year.
At this time, the judicial delegation remains at the scene, accompanied by agents from the Judicial and Scientific Police , who are working on the visual inspection and gathering evidence.

If the sexist nature of the crime is confirmed , the woman would become the 15th victim of gender-based violence in Spain so far in 2025, and the fifth in Andalusia so far this year.

For the past 20 weeks, Amy has been training for a bodybuilding competition and has been on a heavy steroid cycle.  Her Coach has her taking many steroids including trenbolone(no female should ever take trenbolone) and I told him not to give this to her as it will make her very crazy.  And it did.  The last weeks she has become even more aggressive and mentally abusive, even smashing a door in our apartment.  This is with me, she is a completely different and nice person to everyone else.  So how did we get here…4 years ago we got back together after a bad breakup which was all my fault.  One of her conditions of getting back together was that she wanted control over all our finances, I gave in and transferred ALL my money to her, 2.7 million dollars of crypto.  She is obviously very successful, earning 1 million dollars a year from fan pages.  I told her she didn’t need to do the fan pages because we have money, but she loved the attention.  During the last 4 years I was not allowed to have access to our money and had to ask her permission for anything I purchased.  She has used this as a control over me.  She has used heavy steroids for the last 4 years and I believe this with lots of money, attention, and lots of fan page fame has changed her into a controlling aggressive person towards me.  She has now asked for a divorce and told me that under Colombian Law(we were married in Colombia), that she keeps everything including my money, because everything is in her name.

The message in the last IG post could explain the reason for this situation, along with his history of violence.

The man had a history of violence, and she wanted a divorce. In the message, he claims that she handled all the finances, and that if they got divorced, he would be left with nothing.

This doesn't justify femicide, but it's probably the reason he killed her. He couldn't bear the rejection and the supposed risk of losing his money, and perhaps even though things were more or less okay for a while, in the end, what you see on social media isn't reality; everything is fake on a screen.

It really depresses me that something like this happened to her. She was one of my favorite bodybuilders; she had so much potential, talent, and a future; she grew more beautiful and muscular every day, and she was undoubtedly going to be at the top of women's bodybuilding.

Such a brutal, atrocious, and violent fate should be reserved only for the scum of humanity, but many of them die in the comfort of their beds.

A professional female bodybuilder was beaten to death with a hammer at her luxury Costa del Sol home before her muscleman husband killed himself using a knife, police believe.

Colombian bodybuilding champion Zunilda Hoyos Mendez, who also went by the name Amy, was found dead yesterday afternoon after detectives went to the property on an upmarket residential estate in the popular Spanish resort of Fuengirola.

The body of her partner, named as 46-year-old Jarrod Gelling, was found in a bathroom with what police have described in an initial statement as 'apparent self-inflicted stab wounds.'

Zunilda, who was dubbed Colombian She-Hulk, had been missing since Saturday after flying to the Costa del Sol from Dubai, where the couple reportedly spent much of their time.

Her relatives described Jarrod overnight as 'aggressive' and said they believe he could have lashed out after she told him she wanted a divorce.

Zunilda's niece Yuleydis told Malaga-based newspaper Sur her aunt was going to help nurse Jarrod after a knee operation before travelling to Portugal for a competition.

After, she planned to head back to Colombia alone after making the decision to divorce him.

'For my aunt it was the last trip, a goodbye', niece Yuleydis said.

'She had taken the decision to split from her husband because of his aggressive behaviour.

'They had broken up already once and were apart for quite a while but then got back together again to try to resolve things, although the mistreatment continued.'

The couple's bodies were found just before 2pm yesterday inside a property on a residential estate called Higueron West after a gym companion of Zunilda's raised the alarm saying he hadn't seen her since June 14.

A National Police spokesman in Malaga said yesterday: 'The National Police is investigating the death of a man and woman found lifeless at a property in Fuengirola.

'In the absence of official identification of the bodies, initial inquiries are pointing to them being those of a 43-year-old woman of Colombian origin and her 46-year-old partner of American origin.

'Officers went to the property on a residential estate about 1.45pm after a friend of the woman whose body was found reported her disappearance on Wednesday at the National Police Station in Torremolinos.

'Her body showed obvious signs of violence and that of the man's signs indicating a suicide-type death which is something an autopsy will have to confirm.'

Although the suspected killer was said by police to be of 'American origin' he is believed to have dual Colombian and US nationality.

They were not on the Spanish police radar over previous reports of domestic violence.

If the woman's death is confirmed as a gender violence murder, it would be the third so far in the province of Malaga and the fifth in Southern Spain's Andalucia region this year.

Earlier this month a Spanish woman was strangled and beaten to death on waste ground behind a petrol station a short drive from Marbella. Her 47-year-old Bulgarian partner was arrested and remanded in custody.

In February a 48-year-old mum-of-three was allegedly killed by her 42-year-old Nigerian ex-partner in the popular Costa del Sol holiday resort of Benalmadena.

Spanish news website El Espanol reported overnight that as well as being a big name in the professional bodybuilding world, Zunilda also had more than 100,000 followers on Onlyfans and Fansly where it said she sold steamy videos as 'the naughtiest fitness girl.'

She finished second in the NPC Worldwide Latin American Championships in 2021.

Her coach Branden Rey said in an emotional Insta**** post beside a photo of her flexing her muscles in a black bikini: 'We had 17 days until we were going to hit the stage and shock the world my friend.

'I told you that you could possibly be top 10 in the world by the end of this year and I meant it.
