The Dangerfield Coefficient
« on: January 14, 2022, 06:45:03 am »
So, this is sort of a running joke I've had with a couple of my schmoe brethren, and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience.  Thirty years ago, my very first session turned into about a one year relationship, which was a complete surprise to me.  And during it, I was introduced to several of my GF's fbb friends, and the reaction of one of them upon meeting me was, "Oh hell!  A REAL man!"  Now, please understand that I am in no way extraordinary . . . but I discovered that like the Rodney Dangerfield movie "Back to School," where he says, "If you wanna look thin, hang around fat people!" the same warped logic applies with fbbs.  Many of them, whether they session or not, are pursued by the sort of typical little guy with the taped horn rimmed glasses, WD40 pocket protector, and fuzzy nose mole.  And having met a number of these guys, other than being a bit socially awkward, very pleasant blokes, if sometimes a bit clingy.  Consequently, and this refers back to the other thread about FS sessions, I have gotten very lucky, not through any efforts of my own, but rather because "in comparison" I appear to be more than I actually am.  So freaking weird, but so freaking true!  "If you wanna look studly, hang around schmoes!" . . . about fucking time I got some benefit after having all my lunch money beaten out of me back in HS.  Heehee!
Life sucks and then you die.

Definitely truth to this. I'm average height and in slightly above good shape but unremarkable physically. I'm actually a nerd, but was able to coast through school playing football and luckily through that managed to never be awkward around girls. Every lady I've ever repeated with told me she didn't need to look up our old emails to refresh who I am/what I like. I'm 'memorable' for some reason.

I always gotten the "awwww you are cute" from the sessioniates who have remarked on my looks. Some of them have stated they like how fit and strong I am compared to the vast majority of our species (especially when you compare me to other schmoes) while a few even took some time to admire and even worship my muscles which was fun as hell. But the one sessioniate would I came closest with put it best on why she enjoyed my looks. "You are really so darn cute it's almost cruel and have really nice muscles but nothing I cannot handle therefore with you I can have my cake and eat it too".

But that was years ago so now it's more "oh you are handsome for an older guy" lol

This topic makes me laugh because it's so true!  After witnessing the behavior of a fellow schmoe at the Tampa Pro in 2019, I was reminded of what my dad told me whenever i scored a goal or touchdown growing up...."Act like ya been there"...The gentlemen was fawning over Helle after she had just won her class and was walking around the lobby.  She was taking pictures and this guy (my apologies if this is one of you fellas) was pretty skinny, wearing clothes two sizes too big was fidgeting standing right next to her trying to get her attention.  I believe he finally did get his picture and it looked like he stole a squeeze of her bicep in the process!

It's amazing how far a tiny bit of confidence and grooming will go.  That weekend will still go down as one of my favorite of all time.  Shame I didn't get to meet any of you there!

That last part is sooo true . . . and if you've got a quick wit and can mix in some OCCASIONAL self-deprecating humor, that's even better.  If I can make a woman laugh . . . with me, not at me, LOL! . . . I've had much better outcomes.  "Wheeeeeeeeeeee!!"

So true. I was a lucky kid (not a single person on earth ever chose or worked to "earn" their birth parents), enjoyed early success in a variety of things, but it never phased me, in part because I lived in such a small town. Not to disparage the place that raised me, but it ain't New York.

Nevertheless, 20 years ago now, I was that same awkward kid you saw....and I was also following Helle, hoping she would be gracious enough to shoot with me. I have always adored Helle, and the fact that you would witness the same interaction some 20 years later is mind-boggling and says something about dedication to one's craft that I hold in highest esteem. Bodybuilding at that level is nothing like carpentry or painting. To have known her is truly an honor.

By the way, I just got back from heaven....again.  :what:

I'm a big fat ugly guy, but can tell a joke and carry a multitude of conversations.   Needless so say I get friend-zoned at lightspeed.

Just remember the right amount of $$$ can fix a lot of blemishes in many pretty women's eyes including some FBB.
