"Post an Athlete Most People Forgot About"

Let Saradas knowledge show.

I'll throw out a name that doesn't come up nearly enough:

Tazzie Colomb

She had one of those physiques that was just fun to look at—great shape, solid muscularity, and a presence that stood out without needing extreme size. Not the most decorated competitor, which is probably why she slips through the cracks, but definitely memorable if you followed the scene at the time.

Another one:

Kris Murrell

More on the fitness side, but her combination of muscle, symmetry, and athleticism was seriously underrated. She kind of gets lost between eras and divisions, which is a shame because she brought a really complete look.

I think a lot of "forgotten" athletes fall into that category:

• Didn't dominate long enough
• Competed during stacked eras
• Or didn't fit the exact judging trend at the time

Curious what deep cuts others have—there are definitely some names buried in the Saradas archives that deserve another look.

Yaz Boyum was one name not mentioned enough. She was a competitor between 1996 to 2003. At one time she did have a personal training business in Washington DC.

That's a good pick. Yaz Boyum is definitely one of those competitors who tends to get lost in discussions because she competed during an era that was absolutely loaded with talent.

What I remember most about Yaz was that she had a very balanced physique and always looked athletic on stage. She may not have had the extreme mass of some of the bigger names from that period, but she brought a polished and competitive package.

Another athlete I think people have largely forgotten is Gayle Moher. She was a consistent presence throughout the 90s and early 2000s, competed at a high level for years, and had a physique that evolved significantly over her career. Yet she rarely comes up when people discuss that era.

It's interesting how some athletes remain household names among fans while others, despite long and successful careers, slowly fade from memory. Threads like this are great because they remind us how much depth there was beyond the Olympia headliners.

Who else do people think deserves a second look? There are probably dozens of competitors from the late 90s and early 2000s that newer fans have never even heard of.

Britt Miller and Cindy Phillips were fan favorites back in the 2000s. I think fans of the current era forget about them. I remember reading their blogs back then. Thinking about it makes me so nostalgic.

Mina Mitsuoka was another fbb of the mid-2000s. She only competed a few times, but go a following on FT You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. There was this awesome picture set that Gene X. Huwang produced. Now she is an ophthalmologist and retired from the sport.

Lynea Carlson (Brehm) - 1996 Canadian Nat'l Heavyweight Champ, competed in a few pro shows looking stout and ripped.  Extremely underrated.

My first crush with a FBB in the first internet era was with Heather Hulceberg Lee, perhaps not so commonly know today. Another one was the tall and strong Shawn Tan, soon retired.

I remember her well. Another athlete during the 2000s. Heather at one point did figure and then returned to bodybuilding. Then after that, I think she had a child and retired. I cannot find much on her these days. Some athletes just disappear from fitness entirely.
