Here is a suggestion.  I like the site and am willing to contribute from a large library that I have.

But I also often have to travel on business frequently, so is there a way to "park" my membership each time I travel so that I don't get sent to purgatory for not contributing for several days?

Hi Legeek,
You are contributing an average 4 quality posts a day since joining, so I don't think you have much to worry about. Many forum members travel and can't log in for periods of time, I my self have just returned from a break. If you contribute regularly as you do, you should not worry about not logging in for a while, your posting record speaks for itself.

Hi, feedback here. I'm new to the site, and so far I've only ventured into the art and stories sections, as that's where my interests lie. I've noticed that lots of people are posting simple one-sentence or less replies in order to view hidden links or boost their activity rating.

So I have to ask: Is the karma/activity system really worth it when it leads to people flooding threads with emoticons and useless replies? I think the system needs to be improved.

Thanks for your feedback SureWhyNot, and thanks for raising this issue. You are right, there are some members who do bump up their post record with one word replies, sentences that are not of great value or become "Time Expired" quickly. But most members respect that Saradas is a better place to be,  if the rules are followed for everyone's benefit.

See Rule 13 here:
"13.) Do not clutter up the forum by posting one word replies, Use the karma system to thank users for significant posts.  The mods will Deleting one word replies to threads around the forum.  Due to changes on the forum we have been instructed to start deleting one word replies to threads around the forum.  There is one exception and that is the hidden post which requires a post for you to see the hidden content."

So it is permissible to use emoticons only, to reveal hidden posts, but not permissagle to just post an emoticon only in threads where there is no hidden post. The Karma System was introduced to remove the need for congratulations re posts, and enables members to vote themselves when they think another member has contributed a valuable comment or post to the forum. So the members themselves also decide via this system how soon a new member has earned the privilege to see hidden posts. Members themselves decide whether or not to hide posts or not. So the Karma system is a democratic way for members to show their appreciation of another member of Saradas.

Emoticons used to reveal hidden posts are deleted as they build up per topic, reducing the activity of the member. Miss use of emoticons regularly by a member can result in a ban, so all members should observe rule 13) and use the karma system to show appreciation, and only post valuable comments so the forum remains uncluttered for all to enjoy. Equally, valueless  comments may be deleted at any time.

Hi. I am new to this forum.

And have a little technical suggestion.
When you reply to topic to see hidden posts, is there a possibility to stay at this topic?
Now you redirected to the begining of section where the topic is.
It's not critically for usability, but may be it can do this foum a bit more comfortable?

A lot of thanks to forum mods and admins. You  do a big job everyday.

Yes there is.
if you click on "Attachments and other options " at the bottom of the post box you will see the option "Return to this topic." if selected it will return you too the thread you are posting in.
You can also default this in your profile.  Just open the "Look and Layout" and then select "Return to topics after posting by default.".

Hope this helps.
As always feel free to ask questions at any time.

Could uploadgig.com added to the banned filehosts?

Every download stops around 50-100mb. No resuming possible. I've been trying for months now to download a single file from it, no success. Not a single file finished. Tried it on both Chrome and Firefox. Tried it with a download manager too, its impossible. I think its a scam host

Most file hosts have a limit on how long a free user can download.  It runs generally from 1.5 - 2 hours.  So any really large downloads will not work as free user.  Generally file hosts are banned for things like tons of advertising, popups, popdowns, adware, problems with virus/trojan/etc.   But I will forward this up to the Admin and if there are or have been other user complaints it may get put on the banned hosts list.

Or should I post the same vid a few times till it get not delete?? I think a member has a right to know what is wrong with a post. And I realy don`t understand what is wrong with the postings. And without a explain I getting a little angry. I think it is not fair to delete without explain.

Often posts are moved to a different part of the forum better suited to the post.  You may not have access to some of these areas yet, keep posting and you will in time.

Posts are deleted for violations of the rules

For instance lots of people never read the rules and post video clips with out a preview.   The rules clearly states all video posts need a preview image(By the way this includes links to Youtube videos in the Youtube section, all means all.), thumbnail image or both.  Saying clever little things like "The preview is on the file host." does not cut it.  Its not right to ask all other forum members to open an external link to see if they want the vid.  Besides it only takes a minute to make a preview image and upload it to a image host.  What really bugs me is people who try this stunt, but don't even select the option on the file host to display a preview, so there isn't a preview image on the file host anyway.

Also drivel gets deleted, if other forum members don't want to see it, it gets deleted, so any post that doesn't contribute to a thread gets deleted.  Remember while we all value our own opinion, others don't.  (Yes some of us Mods(As human beings we have opinions too.), make comments and those get deleted too.   ;D  )
Everyone should use the karma system rather than making that drivel post, it will make the site better for all.

Lots of times people ask questions in someone else's thread like "Whom is in this image with such and such?" Thats stealing the thread, it gets deleted.  Yes people answer these questions sometimes even Mods, but they shouldn't as this is delving off topic.  There is a section of the forum to ask whom is this question,  Who is she? Who are they?

Lots of times people make lewd off color comments, many forum members don't like seeing these, so they get deleted.  Yes!, even if funny.

Lots of times people make offensive comments about the women, these get deleted.

Lots of times people steal a topic for steroid rants, hair rants, fake boob rants, etc., these steal a thread and they get deleted.

I could go on, but in the end if people would read the rules before posting, we would have a much better forum for all.

I know this all. I read the rules. Maybee I dont understand all. All the vids I had posted are ok and not against the rules. I think they should send a message with the reason for deleting the post. For now I dont want post anything because I dont know what was wrong.

Dear paselucky ,
Thank you for your feed back.
I am adding to the reply that Sar-Net has given you, as you have requested further clarity to the points you raise.
We do write to members when there is frequent and blatant violation of the rules. There are so many posts on the forum that we cannot write to members every time we move a post or delete a post.
We don't write when posts are moved to another section. If moved to VIP, which it is clear in the rules section can happen, you will still see that your post still exists if you look in your "profile" and then "show posts" option. But you won't be able to read it again unless you become a VIP. VIP's will still give you Karma for your post.

It is up to members to keep themselves appraised of the rules.
If you have specific examples we can reply, but a general "My posts are deleted" without specific info is not track able for moderators. We try to keep the forum as clean as possible from clutter and it goes without trace if removed.

Nothing you have raised as an issue should be a surprise to you, if you read and abide by the rules.

Thinking on this some more.

Another common deletion is adult content mixed with family safe content in a single post in a non-adult section of the forum, some times a Mod may edit these posts moving or deleting the adult portion of the post, other times its just delete the post.

And then we have the banned host list.  Use a host on the banned host list and your post will be deleted.

You may have picked up a shadow, someone who doesn't like you and reports your posts to the file host, so they are deleted.  Then people on the forum report "Your forum post is dead." and it gets deleted.

Along those same lines are posts that don't conform to the file host's rules, and are deleted by the file host, so your forum post is dead and gets deleted.

Again along those same lines, people don't check their host links and their forum post does not work, so it gets reported as dead, and it gets deleted. (This happens in different ways.  File uploads don't finish, link is dead or trash. Person selects wrong link type, Use "BB"/"Bulletin Board" or "forum" link.  File host has problems?)

Posts also get deleted for being posted to death, if something is on the forum a zillion times, new posts of that same content may get deleted.

Anyway a few more ideas.
