jillmblondin_ifbbpro:I did a thing. .
9 weeks ago I started my 2018 competitive season with the IFBB Pro League as a Women’s Physique competitor. 5 shows - 4 states and 2 countries later, I stepped onstage for the first time to compete as a Female Bodybuilder. .
This season was quite the emotional roller coaster. Not because of my placings, but the reasoning behind those placings and the Judges feedback. I found myself having to make some decisions. After Omaha, the decision was made to follow the judges suggestions and move up to Women’s Bodybuilding. Eek!
.
The 4 weeks between Omaha and Chicago, I put every ounce of effort and energy I had left into becoming the best bodybuilder I could be. I knew when I stepped on that stage Saturday, I had done everything I could to be my best. I had zero expectations going into the show because this was all new for me. My only goal was to not look out of place or like I didn’t belong. Regardless of what happened, I was proud of myself to taking on a new challenge, pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I was walking on that stage feeling ACCOMPLISHED. .
I’m still not quite sure I’ve really grasped what happened. I’m still taking it all in. I felt like I had won before I even pinned my number on Saturday morning. To think that I actually DID win, I’m waiting for someone to pinch me. .
And, although I was most definitely looking forward to improvement season starting and enjoying some downtime, I have a new fire lit in me and I am ready to put everything I have into these next 9 weeks to bring an even better package to the Rising Phoenix stage. .
I guess people were right after all, I am a bodybuilder. I’ve found my home. ❤️ All of this wouldn’t be possible without my team:
@shelbystarnes100
@kennywallach
@teamallmax
@aquarterturntotheright
@getflawlesshair
All my family friends and co-workers and most importantly, my husband @d_blondin ❤️
Those were her thoughts. I didn't think she should have won either, but she did. Nothing can change that. Jay Fuchs got vindication the following weekend. I'm moving on from the 2018 Chicago Pro. I think we all should. Let's go back to posting pictures.
