If you don't know it is a story about a average lady (Juila) and her above average boyfriend (Howard) who get lost in a cave system and wind up on another planet which turns out to be a female dominated society where the women are tall, super strong, super smart and impervious to pain, illness or injury. Among other things. They get this way by drinking a concentrated form of a fruit that comes from the "Diana tree" Which (of course) only works on women. It is toxic to men. The men are the same as Earth men in regards to size and strength and most accept their inferior status as the natural order of things. Juila drinks the (addictive) concentrate against the Howard's wishes and becomes orders of magnitude better than her alpha-male boyfriend. In every way.
