During the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, Dawn competed as a weightlifter, seeing how bodybuilding was not recognized as a sport in the Olympics. Predictably, Dawn blew away the competition, winning a gold medal for the US in weightlifting.

Following the Olympics, the China State General Sports Administration, baffled by Dawn’s massive, yet non-drug influenced physique, conducted a discreet, though minor and low-key experiment to replicate and study her “gift”. During the Olympics, Dawn had to give numerous urine, saliva and hair samples, amidst a storm of allegations of steroid use. While the tests did not find any sign of any steroid use, it did provide the CSGSA a plethora of DNA samples to synthesize and experiment with.

Taking information from Dawn’s personal account of her muscular buildup, the CSGSA’s goal was to successfully isolate and synthesize the part of her DNA that accelerated Dawn’s muscle growth, then develop it into a serum which could be administered on their athletes, which in turn would enhance their performance exponentially and allow China to win more medals in any international sporting competition.

Most females naturally cannot build bulky muscles because they are genetically incapable of doing so. The scientists working on this project theorized that Dawn’s DNA contained an element that would remove such a restriction and allow an acceleration of muscle growth far beyond female, and probably human limits. Because of this, their pool of test subjects were restricted to female athletes. To further narrow the field, they had to choose from female athletes from between 16 to 21.

The first stage of the experiment was to successfully synthesize Dawn’s “muscle growth” DNA and develop it into a serum. After that came the selection of test subjects. Searching for the right test subject became tougher than actually developing the serum, as most of the girls interviewed either refused, or their parents did it for them. Even though the CSGSA scientists offered to pay the families a lot of money, all of the potential subjects refused.

One of the last candidates selected was a 16 year old girl named Zhang Li Hua. A senior at her local middle school, Li Hua was also part of the Olympic Sprint Team for girls under 18. She had a financially poor background, living with her parents and baby sister in a local slum. Petite and slender, Li Hua was a shy girl who hoped that being on the Olympic Sprint Team would help raise her family’s financial situation.

Li Hua stood at slightly over 5 feet in height, and weighed slightly under 90 pounds. At 16 years old she was slightly underdeveloped, looking more like she was 14, very small chested, and having a twig-like physique. Its hard to believe she was an actual athlete or a 16 year old for that matter.

One day while Li Hua was practicing on the school track, one of the scientists of the project approached her, and, in an impeccably friendlier manner, politely explained to her that he was looking for a candidate for a safe, quick experiment to test a “medicine” that would help her run faster. The scientist was quick to assure Li Hua that it was not a steroid or drug of any sort, and there would be no negative side effects whether it did or did not work. After offering to pay her family $50 000 in US Dollars’ worth in Ren Ming Bi (RMB), Li Hua was quick to accept the offer, wanting only to help her family from the poverty that was making life difficult. The scientist told Li Hua she would visit her parents to ask for their consent.

The same day after school, the scientist did just that, arriving at Li Hua’s run down house. Li Hua’s parents, her father especially, disillusioned by the poverty that had caused them so much misery, agreed to the offer. The scientist was glad and relieved he had finally found a candidate, and told Li Hua to meet him at the school clinic the next day during recess. He again reassured the whole family that the experiment was extremely safe.

The following day during recess, Li Hua approached the scientist at the school clinic, who had at least two more colleagues with him, one of them a woman, all dressed in clinical garb. At first intimidated, Li Hua was comforted by the scientist who said the clothing and atmosphere was all procedure for any medical process. After a quick health check conducted by the female scientist, which cleared Li Hua for the testing, she was made to sit down on a chair.

The lead scientist then quickly got out a small syringe and a small unmarked, glass bottle. Because Li Hua was such a small girl, he extracted a very, very small dose into the syringe; so little it didn’t seem like there was anything in the syringe at all. He quickly administered the dosage on Li Hua’s arm, and before she knew it, it was all finished. The scientist, thanking Li Hua, told her either him or his colleagues would drop by once a month during her Olympic Sprint Team practice sessions to check on her. With that, he and his colleagues said goodbye to her, allowing her to return to recess with her friends.

Li Hua, joining her friends for lunch, didn’t feel any different and was surprised at how quick the test was. Her friends constantly questioned her about where she went, to which Li Hua simply replied that she had forgotten a few things in her locker.

One month later…

A visitor tag clipped on his shirt, the scientist who had spoken to Li Hua a month ago re entered the Hangzhou Middle School. It was an hour after school dismissal, yet the scientist made his way past the deserted school toward the athletic track, where the school’s Girls Olympic Sprint Team was supposed to be practicing.

Unlatching the fenced gate, the scientist smiled as he saw the sprint team on the far end of the track. From where he was, he could see that there were at least eight girls, all dressed in the signature red sports attire, who were jogging around the track. The scientist calmly made his way to the bleachers, and sat down as he waited from the girls the pass by him.

One by one, each of the girls jogged by him, a few of them managing a glance at him. Then came along little Li Hua, who the scientist recognized immediately. He called out to her, and Li Hua, noticing the scientist, smiled cheerfully and waved at him. The scientist gestured for Li Hua to come over. Picking up her towel from a nearby bench, she wiped the sweat off her as she walked energetically up the bleachers.

The scientist could then immediately notice that Li Hua’s physique was different. Quickly studying her from head to toe, he saw that the featherweight, petite little girl from one month ago had now gained a more athletic frame fitting of her status as a national Olympic sprinter. Li Hua’s shoulders were slightly broader and her deltoids had a visible roundness to them. Her arms, which were so thin the scientist could wrap his whole hand around them, now had more definition and were at least a couple of inches thicker, with the faintest hint of an actual bicep whenever she bent her arms. Her stomach muscles were also now becoming vaguely visible, with her abdominals flexing and relaxing as she breathed, when viewed from the correct angle. Her legs were also starting to gain shape.

The scientist, standing up, laughed as he shook Li Hua’s hand. When he asked Li Hua how she had been doing so far, she replied sweetly that ever since she was given the injection, she could now actually do most of the warm-up exercises such as push-ups and sit-ups. Li Hua, speaking very quickly, claimed she was starting to actually beat some of the other girls on the team with her sprint times, when before she was usually dead last.

The scientist congratulated Li Hua and commented on how she had become slightly more muscular. Li Hua immediately made a disgusted face, but then smiled again, saying she didn’t like having muscles as they were disgusting for a girl to have, and that she was just becoming more fit. The scientist nodded and continued to ask Li Hua more questions on her progress, taking notes on his notepad as she answered. Amidst this, he noticed that Li Hua’s demeanor was more confident and perky, rather than the shy girl he met a month ago. The question and answer later turned into a chit-chat that lasted almost an hour, as the scientist and Li Hua slowly developed a bit of a friendship. The scientist thanked Li Hua and said he would see her again next month.

He then walked over to the team coach, and asked him a few questions. The most notable thing the scientist got from the coach is that during the team’s gym training sessions, all the girls would have to do a little bit of exercise with weights. Li Hua, who used to be able to lift around five pounds only, had complained the weights were too light, and begun to lift weights in the 10-15 pound range.

The scientist, disturbed, returned to his workplace and studied the file on Dawn. He read that after lifting weights moderately for only a few months, Dawn was able to build at least five times the amount of muscle a typical female would be able to. Li Hua, it seemed, was already going down this path. Remembering how Li Hua expressed a distaste for bulky muscles on girls, and taken in by her innocence, the scientist had a change of heart and, against his orders, rapidly began to formulate a serum that would stop the effects of Dawn’s DNA. This would not return Li Hua to her original state, but it would keep her from experiencing the out-of-control muscle buildup Dawn experienced. The scientist couldn’t bring himself to risk turning the friendly, innocent 16-year old girl he befriended into a muscle-bound monster.

Another month went by. As the scientist worked furiously hard to develop an anti-serum, he also discreetly informed Li Hua’s coach to come up with an excuse to tell her to avoid using the gym weights. This did not deter Li Hua too much, however. Over the past two months the serum administered to her did not alter her genetically, but mentally as well.

More and more, she became active at exercising at school and at home. While she was forbidden by her coach to use the gym weights, citing safety reasons for a girl her size, this did not stop Li Hua from doing push-ups, sit-ups, and running marathons around the school track after classes.

The end result was that Li Hua developed a very athletic body. Her shoulders continued to slowly broaden, while her deltoid muscles were now visible. A faint line separating her pectoral muscles began to develop, while on her lower body, her abdominals were likewise becoming as visible as her shoulder muscles. Incredibly, Li Hua had also grown an inch in height. Beyond her physique, Li Hua began to open up more. Before, she was a very modest girl, wearing long sleeve-shirts and jeans often. Now, she was wearing halter tops and skirts, which surprised not just her parents but her friends too.

Li Hua’s friends, at first perplexed by her sudden change in behavior and physique, gradually began to warm up to her. Some of them joked that she was starting to go through puberty, given how she was quite underdeveloped before, but Li Hua remained tight lipped on that subject.

Meanwhile, the scientist, having nearly completed an anti-serum, was in the process of adding its final touches when his colleagues on the project discovered what he was doing, and quickly informed that CSGSA’s higher authority. The scientist was fired and promptly arrested for trying to derail a government-sponsored project. However, because he was good friends with the head of the CSGSA, instead of a life-time in prison which was initially mandated, he would only spend six months.

The CSGSA, studying Li Hua’s progression, realized how effective the new serum was and, decided to play a larger role in this project. Instead of appointing a new project leader, instructed the remaining scientists to report directly to the CSGSA instead. Li Hua’s school coach was then instructed to allow her to use the gym equipment as she pleased, while an official would be on campus once a week to monitor her.

The following week during physical education class, Li Hua’s gym instructor gave her the OK to start training with weights. Li Hua, delighted, dashed on over to the weight rack and, with a high pitched grunt, picked up a pair of 20-pound dumbbells.

After a month of intensive weight training, Li Hua’s body had indeed transformed. The big reveal came during physical education class, where swimming was the next sport to be taught, after gym education. Li Hua previously was always squeamish about having to wear a swimsuit, even a one-piece, as she felt uncomfortable exposing herself more than she was used to.

However, things were quite different now. As the class of thirty plus students, still in uniform, sat on the bleachers by the school’s swimming pool, listening to the instructor, Li Hua tried to remain inconspicuous, sitting in the thick of the class. Several of the boys kept turning around to take quick glances at her, turning back to whisper to their friends.

After the lecture, all the students were instructed to head to the locker rooms to get changed. Li Hua took her time getting changed, doing it in one of the shower stalls while the other girls were getting changed amidst each other. Changing into her new, recently purchased swim-suit, she waited till all the girls had left before leaving the locker room herself.

As the large class of thirty crowded around the edge of the pool, ready to dive in, the instructor barked in Mandarin for everyone to get in line, calling random students to stand in front, and yelling at others to stand behind in rows of three. He noticed Li Hua at the back and called her to stand in front, at the edge of the pool.

As Li Hua emerged from the crowd, the instructor’s voice softened to a whisper, his eyes bugging out. This was not the girl in his PE class from four months ago. That girl was short and skinny, almost looking anorexic. The girl that stood before him was something else. Li Hua, wearing a revealing two-piece swim suit, revealed what only a month of weight lifting did for her. Her body was now, beyond any doubt, very muscular. Her broad shoulders ended in two powerfully developed deltoids. Her arms were now meaty and muscular, with a vein running down each. Her pectoral muscles were becoming more developed, giving her upper body a commanding presence. Her formerly flat stomach was now bumpy with strong abdominal muscles, while her legs had gone from being twigs to being shapely and muscled.

Gradually, the entire class began to notice Li Hua and for the briefest moment everyone was completely silent. Slowly, many of them, the boys especially, began to whisper to each other. Some of the boys felt a sense of intimidation; the girl they had nicknamed “xiao mei mei (little sister)” was now their height, and most muscular than any of them. Some of the other boys felt something completely different. Li Hua began to blush, feeling more and more uncomfortable standing amongst a shocked class, wearing very little.

The instructor, quickly regaining his composure, quickly barked at everyone to get in the pool row by row. Li Hua, feeling both confident and uneasy at once, jumped into the pool. Part of her wanted to feel embarrassed and run back into the locker room to change, but another part of her was feeling strangely confident; an urging to step into a new, untapped realm.

As another month went by, Li Hua, her physical education class already past gym sessions, found herself staying after school to lift more weights at the gym. The CSGSA, already heavily invested in her, had instructed the school to accommodate her needs, and allow her to continue school as normal, without any questioning or interference.

Li Hua herself was getting more and more muscular by the day. As she curled a pair of twenty-pound dumbbells, she watched as her biceps bulged like never before. There was still a part of her that was yelling at her, telling her she was destroying her body with these hideous muscles, but again, she felt the urge to continue pumping. She couldn’t explain to herself why.

At home, Li Hua’s mother became more and more concerned at how her daughter was becoming so big. Li Hua would repeatedly assure her that this was what she wanted, and that a stronger body would win medals for China, and in turn a better future for the family. Because they were so poor, Li Hua’s mother could do no more than worry. She decided to take up sewing, because she was too poor to buy Li Hua new clothes as her old ones were getting too small for her muscular body. Her father, now working for eighteen hours a day at a factory, barely even saw his daughter.

Meanwhile, a new development surfaced in the CSGSA research wing: With the effectiveness of the serum proven in Li Hua, it was decided that, rather than be the flagship athlete for China’s entry into the next Olympics, she would instead become a guinea pig for more serum testing. Seeing how Li Hua went from a skinny little girl to a full blown fitness athlete in just six months, the CSGSA wanted to test the serum further, by scheduling to have Li Hua injected with another, more concentrated dosage.

What a difference a month made for Li Hua. Anyone who saw the 16 year old now would never believe that seven months ago she was the cute, petite girl. Six months of athletic training under the influence of Dawn’s DNA developed her body into an athletic frame, and actually grew her four inches in height. Another month of intensive weight training took her a step further.

Her arms and shoulders bulged with hard muscle, with veins running down each arm. Her breasts, much to the horror of her parents and friends, were starting to flatten amidst rising pectoral muscles, which were totally ripped. Her abdominals were starting to rise, gaining solid definition, and her legs were thick and shaped with rock-hard muscle. Her physique was equivalent to a medium weight female bodybuilder’s.

Her mother, now in complete horror at what her daughter was turning into, scolded Li Hua, and cursed herself, for agreeing to allow the government scientists to inject her with the “medicine”. She would often go on long tirades on how Li Hua would never marry, as no man would ever want to be with a girl with so much muscle. Li Hua’s father had a similar reaction, but, intimidated by her muscles, changed his mind about beating her with his belt and instead chose to pretend his daughter wasn’t there.

The stress pushed Li Hua to seek sanctuary with her school friends. She had no luck there. While in the United States, Dawn’s friends were more understanding of her changing body, Li Hua’s friends, all typical school girls raised in an extremely conservative Chinese society, absolutely could not comprehend that “Xiao Mei Mei” was turning into a “Nan Ren“ (man). As a result, Li Hua found herself completely and utterly ostracized from her school mates, which, at many times, was very emotionally straining for her. She began to think, and remembered the scientist who first visited her and became friends with her from the start, and then suddenly stopped visiting.

She began to regret ever signing the deal with the CSGSA, but once again, there was still that unexplainable, prevalent desire to get bigger and watch her muscles grow. The CSGSA scientists expected this kind of thing.

One day a CSGSA delegate met Li Hua at school and told her that she was to attend a formal dinner with the top authority at the CSGSA the following night; transport would be provided for her. The night of the dinner, Li Hua showed up wearing a strapless mini dress that used to be her mother’s. Entranced by the beautiful, yet muscular teenage girl, the CSGSA delegates quickly shook her hand and welcomed her.

During the dinner, one of the officials sitting next to Li Hua told her that he understood the problems she was facing, and promised her that after the experiment was over, they would revert her to her original state by administering an anti-serum. He also promised her that she would be guaranteed a spot in the National Olympic Sprint Team. These two would happen if Li Hua agreed to one condition: to allow another injection to be done on her.

The official explained that more than one injection was needed to sustain her development. Li Hua then asked him where the friendly scientist was. The official quickly answered that his wife in Guang Dong had become ill, and he had to fly there to take care of her. In reality, he was in jail for trying to develop an anti-serum for Li Hua. Li Hua, resigned to her situation, agreed to a second injection. The official said it would be done the next week.

Shortly after Li Hua’s dinner with the CSGA officials, the situation with her friends and family deteriorated even further. Her friends had all but stopped talking to her, and changed her beloved nickname of “little sister” to “she-man”. Her mother went ballistic when she found out she had gone to a dinner with them, and actually agreed to a second injection. Fearing for her daughter’s safety, she demanded she go with Li Hua to school the following day so she could tell the CSGSA officials to kiss off.

The following day, the day Li Hua was scheduled to receive her second injection, her mother went with her and walked right up to the CSGSA scientists, telling them to take their money and leave her family alone. The CSGSA scientists, in turn, told her that because she and her daughter signed an agreement to allow Li Hua to be tested on, it would be against state laws to rescind on it. They would lock her up in a prison.

They assured her mother that once the test was over, Li Hua would be returned to her original state (which was a lie), and they would receive a massive payment. Powerless, Li Hua and her mother both had to agree. Li Hua was quickly injected with the second dosage, which was at least twice the amount of the first one. She was then allowed to return to her classes.
Over the course of the month Li Hua suddenly found a strong, unhinged desire to lift more weights. The effect on her was similar to cigarettes on a smoking addict; she knew she was destroying her body by building so much muscle, but she couldn’t keep herself from stopping. Long, long visits to the school gym followed, with Li Hua pumping the heaviest weights in the entire school. When the heaviest weight quickly became too light, the CSGSA official requisitioned a barbell and several 30-pound discs, among other equipment.

With each pump of the 120 pound barbell, Li Hua watched as her muscles bulged harder and harder. She could feel herself getting stronger and bigger. She found more effectiveness when she used long, sustained motions in lifting the weight. Each time she lifted, she could swear her muscles actually grew slightly. Li Hua could literally feel her gym clothes tighten with each set, as her entire body grew more ripped, and more muscle-bound. By now her desire was out of control; she wanted to get huger and huger, and she didn’t want to stop. But at the same time, she was aware of this uncontrollable urge, and more aware that she couldn’t do anything to stop it.

When 120 pounds became too light for her, Li Hua added the last two 30 pound discs to the barbell, making it 180 pounds. She looked down while curling the barbell, watching as her biceps bulged harder and harder with each curl, the veins running down them becoming more pronounced. Dropping the barbell and letting out a sigh, Li Hua walked over to the mirror and stared at herself. She was horrified at what she turned into. She was as big as a heavyweight bodybuilder, with thick muscles bulging out of every part of her body. All this achieved in one month. She didn’t notice the CSGSA delegates, watching from the far corner, one scribbling notes onto a pad, the other taking pictures.

Six months had passed since the scientist was imprisoned. Released from jail and out of a job, he was ordered to return to his hometown of Guangdong, forbidden to come anywhere near the CSGSA’s headquarters, his old place of work. A day before his scheduled flight out of Hangzhou, the scientist decided to make a discrete last minute visit to Li Hua to see her, possibly for the last time.

A certain sense of dread and fear gripped him. The last time he saw Li Hua, she was a small , petite and quiet girl who would open up more when spoken to casually. Arriving at her school, the scientist signed himself in as a visitor just as recess was beginning. Stopping a passing by student, he asked if she knew who Li Hua was, and where she was. The student quickly pointed her general direction and ran off without saying another word.

The scientist slowly made his way in that direction, his eyes scanning each female student around him. It didn’t take long for him to notice a figure that stood out in the distance. The figure was taller than many of the students, and definitely bulky in physique. At first the scientist was quick to dismiss the figure was one of the school’s sports coaches, yet a tell-tale ponytail hanging from the back of her head gave her gender away. The scientist momentarily stopped breathing as he immediately realized who it was.

Approaching Li Hua, he called out her name when he was a few feet away. The girl turned around, revealing her beautiful, utterly feminine face. The scientist expressed a look of shock at her transformation. She was now his height, and was so muscular, it was difficult to believe this was the same Li Hua he first met eight months ago. Li Hua’s face lit up as she let out a gasp and quickly hugged the scientist. The scientist was caught off guard, feeling what must have been at least 160 pounds of dense muscle slam against him. As Li Hua continued to hug the scientist, overwhelmed with happiness that he came back, she didn’t realize she was suffocating him.

The scientist gasped for Li Hua to let go, which she did, then apologized profusely. She said that she didn’t realize how strong she had gotten, flexing her bicep at the same time. The scientist, regaining his breath, watched with awe as Li Hua’s bicep bulged so prominently it could be visibly seen splitting in two, stretching the sleeve of her body-hugging T-shirt. She was a sight to behold.

Back when the scientist still had his job at the CSGSA, he had to attend several bodybuilding contests. Li Hua undoubtly possessed more muscle than any female bodybuilder he had ever seen. He then suggested that the two of them talk in a quiet area, to which Li Hua suggested one of the empty classrooms.

Alone in a classroom, Li Hua told the scientist everything that happened since she last saw him. The scientist then told her the truth behind the CSGSA’s actions, that they were using her as a test subject to see the extent of the serum‘s effects, and once they were done with her they would simply hang her out to dry, with no intention to cure her. He also came clean with his role in the whole experiment, such as how he had to lie to her about the serum’s effects. If it were any other person in Li Hua’s situation, the scientist would probably be beaten to death. But Li Hua, despite her intimidating physique, was still a teenage girl, and was quick to forgive the scientist.

He then asked her how she felt about her muscles. Li Hua said that part of her was horrified at what she had turned into, but another part wanted her to get even bigger. She also went on about how life at school and at home was becoming too stressful, with her parents ostracizing her at home, and everyone at school regarding her as a freak. The scientist then proceeded to talk about Dawn, and how the serum originated from her. He explained that because she had part of Dawn’s DNA in her, she would feel the same desire to build muscle that Dawn had.

Li Hua asked him if he could help her return to the way she used to be. The scientist initially was going to tell her he was returning to his home, never to see her again. But staring at Li Hua, with her pleading eyes and innocent face, he couldn’t help but feel he had an obligation to her, seeing how it was because of him that Li Hua’s life was turned on its head. The scientist then decided he was going to risk everything to help this girl. He then told her, with much confidence, that he would help her. He told Li Hua to first let the CSGSA finish their experiments on her and transfer the promised money to her family, that way she would be off the hook, and that he would contact her later on. The two shared another hug, before the scientist had to leave. Immediately, he took out his cell phone and dialed a fellow scientist from America he had met during the 2008 Olympics, who he knew was still residing in China…

While the scientist went into hiding as a fugitive, figuring out a way to solve Li Hua's dilemma with his colleague, Li Hua's school semester had ended, and she was now on a month-long break. School breaks were always something to look forward to for her, but not this time. She had no more friends to go out with, and life with her parents was awkward, as they treated her like a stranger more and more.

The checkups by the CSGSA representatives continued, and because Li Hua now had no access to her school gym, they provided her weekly transportation to the nearest gym.

Li Hua, not wanting to grow any bigger than she already was, purposely lifted light weights, and tried to waste as much time as possible while the CSGSA goons watched and took notes.

However, by the third weekly visit, Li Hua couldn't help but stare at the massive weights this new gym provided that her school's gym didn't come anywhere close to matching. Tempted beyond measure, her resistance to the serum's psychological effects withered, and she immediately began to pump like crazy on the gym's heaviest weights.

Like a person possessed, Li Hua watched with both pleasure and disgust as her already huge muscles bulged harder and harder, the veins in her arms growing so bold they looked ready to burst out of her skin. With each pump she felt her traps slowly rising, enveloping her neck as she felt her muscle mass crossing into a male heavyweight bodybuilder's territory. A smile slowly crossed her face as she completely lost herself in her desire to become as muscular as possible.

A week before school was to start for the new year, the heats for the under-18 girls sprinting teams were being held at the Hangzhou Middle School. Nearly a hundred young girls from various schools in Hangzhou were warming up to compete in this time trial that would determine who would be selected to enter the national teams, to represent China in the Olympics. Many of the girls were either stretching on the track or chattering amongst each other. Many months of endless training under a strict regiment all boiled down to this, and less than ten of these girls would be selected to join the national leagues. The atmosphere on the track was full of both nervousness and excitement.

This would all change as soon as a certain someone walked through the gates and stepped onto the tracks. Everyone, track officials and athletes alike, stopped whatever they were doing and were frozen in horror at the person who had just stepped in. It was Li Hua. If anyone thought she was the most muscular 16 year old girl they had ever seen three weeks ago, now they wouldn't know what to think, looking at her. She was gargantuan; nearly six feet in height. Since the end of the school semester, Li Hua had put on at least a hundred pounds of dense muscle. Her entire body was bulging with massive, thick muscles, so big they rivaled that of a heavyweight male bodybuilder's. Wearing the standard sports bra and shorts, what little cleavage that her top afforded revealed thinly sliced pecs, with absolutely no sign of breasts anywhere. Her huge arms must were each carrying at least 50 pounds of densely packed muscle. Her legs were just as monstrously muscular. Perched on top of this body was the innocently cute face of Li Hua, completely untouched and free of the muscle growth that transformed the rest of her.

Li Hua had never been this huge before, and similarly, she had never been this cheerful in a long, long time. She briskly walked past the throng towards a track official, warming her body up by flexing her back and chest. All the girls around her began screaming in horror and running away, hiding behind their friends, but Li Hua remained oblivious. The nervous track official immediately told Li Hua she had arrived just in time, and instructed her to take her position at the start line. Li Hua politely thanked the official and walked over to the edge of the track, where her track team was preparing to sprint.

At the sound of the whistle, Li Hua used so much strength to propel herself forward that her thighs were seen visibly growing a little, stretching her shorts to their very limit. Despite being a heavy 260-something pounds of muscle, Li Hua's strength allowed her to run much faster than any of the girls, and by the time she reached the finish line, she had completely shattered the record held by the under-18 girls sprinting team in all of China's Olympic history.

Walking back the start line, the track officials and girls noticed something very different about Li Hua: As she smiled girlishly, delighted that she placed first, she didn't realize that the amount of strength she used to sprint across the track pumped her body up even further. She was even huger now, her skin was so transparent that every muscle in her body was visible. While a moment ago Li Hua was nearly the size of a heavyweight male bodybuilder, now she was approaching superhuman levels of muscle mass. Her legs in particular had become hideously overdeveloped just by sprinting across the track, with thick, meaty slabs of dense muscle bulging outwards, so tightly striated it looked painful. As a photographer raised his camera to take a picture of the winner for the school magazine, Li Hua noticed and proudly flexed both her biceps. More girls began to pass out at the sight of Li Hua's biceps bulging out of her arm, each bicep a hard ball of steel that slowly split into segments as she tightened her flex. By flexing her whole body so hard, Li Hua seemed to grow even more, as her biceps seemed to swell larger and larger, and the veins snaking around her body became more pronounced. The photographer, who could barely keep his camera steady, passed out himself from awe at the sight of this 16 year old girl actually gaining muscle mass before him.

The track officials, wanting to keep order and routine at the heats, treated Li Hua objectively and simply congratulated her, before shifting their focus to the other participants. But everyone else couldn't keep their eyes off this hulk of a girl; this monstrosity of a human being. As Li Hua being to walk to the bleachers where she put her backpack, she felt something in her arm and stared at it. With a strange fascination, Li Hua watched as the muscles in her left arm swelled and slowly grew on their own accord. She was not flexing them at all, yet her left arm was becoming more and more massive, the large vein coiling around her bicep wrapping itself across her arm, and branching off in some places. Her arm was actually mutating to gargantuan levels of mass, becoming increasingly convoluted in muscles and veins to the point where her skin started to make stretching sounds. It looked horrific, even to Li Hua.

She blinked, and all of a sudden her arm was back to the way it was a moment ago. Li Hua stood, stunned for a moment. She looked at both her massive arms, then looked down at her armor-plate pectorals, and in the blink of an eye, broke down crying. Li Hua realized she had become so absorbed by the serum that it never struck her what she transformed herself into until now. Remembering the scientist who said he would help her, and remembering for the first time what she looked like 10 months ago, Li Hua cried at what a monster she turned into. She pounded her first into the wall, causing the concrete to crack and spider web.

The serum did not just change Li Hua's body; it altered her mental state to have an uncontrollable desire to build muscle mass. When she received a second dosage, her desire to become bigger became more irresistible. It was only in this one moment that she broke free of this mind-altering element. Once the heats were over, Li Hua's name was called out in first place, which would have guaranteed her a place in the national team. Except in her case, she was merely a testing bed for the serum, and there was no chance the Chinese would risk controversy by allowing someone like her to compete in front of a global audience in their name. Li Hua went home, broken and upset, the horrified reactions from passerby's suddenly becoming painful once more.

When Li Hua returned home, she sadly returned to her abnormal life with her parents. Her mother refused to speak to her daughter, who in her eyes was dead. Her father was out of the house so much that Li Hua wasn't even sure if he was still alive. The visits from the CSGSA officials became less frequent, and she knew what the scientist told her was coming true: they were going to forget about her and leave her out to dry. Things were not going very well. A few days later, a letter arrived for Li Hua. The scientist wrote to her, saying that he got into contact with an American scientist he used to work with, Graham. Having explained Li Hua's story to him, Graham used his connections both at the US, and in the US embassy in China, to have Li Hua secretly brought to America so she could be properly treated. In the letter, the scientist made it clear to Li Hua that she would probably not be able to return to China, but over in the US she would be able to start a new life. In addition, since he was by now a fugitive on the run, he would also have to travel to the States with her, where he would help look after her. It was decision time for Li Hua.

A few days passed and it was the very day before the start of school. Li Hua, who just turned 17, was all packed up and ready to go. She was told by the scientist that he was on his way with his American colleague, Graham, to pick her up at her house so they could drive to a privately chartered plane that would take them to the States. In the meantime, Li Hua had become an emotional wreck. Suffering from great depression and filled with uncertainty, she did not speak to anyone or leave her house for several days. She had hit rock bottom. Yet deep down, there was a sense of hope at being able to start a new life, far away from her home which had quickly become a living hell for her ever since she and her family agreed to the CSGSA's experiment.

Li Hua saw a car pull over outside her house. It was time to go. She peeked into her mother's bedroom to say a final goodbye, but it was no use; to her, Li Hua didn't exist anymore. Hauling a bag full of what little belongings she had, Li Hua got into the car with the scientist and Graham. During the car ride, the scientist reassured Li Hua that things will be better in the States. She would be provided a home while a way to reduce her overly muscle-bound physique will be researched. Li Hua asked if she would be treated as badly in the States as she was in China by the locals there. Graham said that the people in America are more accepting of different people than in China, and that he knew someone who she could definitely make good friends with.

After an hour-long drive, they arrived at a private airport where Li Hua could see a jet waiting for them. A wave of nervousness hit her, as the reality of leaving her home and old life for good begin to really sink in. As Graham and the scientist got out of the car, Li Hua began to feel strange. It felt like she was having a sharp cramp and feeling out of breath at once. She struggled to regain her composure, then got out. The scientist asked what was wrong, and Li Hua said she was in pain all over. Immediately the two men helped Li Hua out of the car and told her to put her arms around them as they helped her walk to Graham's private jet. The weight of the 17 year old's two muscular arms pressed down on both men's shoulders.

Just as they were about to reach the jet, Li Hua heard the sounds of sirens behind them. She looked around to see two police SUVs speeding toward them. Li Hua screamed in horror as the scientist and Graham both realized that they had been found out. Graham quickly climbed into the jet and shouted for Li Hua and the scientist to get in, but as she was about to climb the stairs, a tremendous wave of pain hit Li Hua. She doubled over and screamed horribly, saying in between that she felt like her whole body was throbbing. The scientist tried his very best to usher Li Hua up the stairs, but by then the police had stopped a few meters away from them and had their guns trained on him.

A police sergeant spoke through a loudspeaker for the scientist and Li Hua to put their hands in the air and step forward slowly. The scientist obeyed, but Li Hua was in too much pain. She immediately fell to her knees. The scientist instinctively reacted by kneeling down next to Li Hua to help her, but an overzealous policeman snapped to his sudden movement and shot him in the shoulder. The scientist shouted and fell back. Graham tried to go down and help him, but the cop on the loudspeaker told him to get back in the plane and not go near the two of them, or else he'd be arrested. Li Hua, amidst her pain, saw the scientist writhing in agony on the floor. She was horrified beyond belief; her only real friend throughout this entire ordeal had been shot in front of her. She screamed and cried, and at that point something began to happen.

Li Hua felt another wave of pain hit her, this one the most painful and prolonged of them all. She grabbed her head with both hands as she rose to her feet and convulsed in agony. The police could only watch her in confusion. Suddenly, Li Hua began to hear the sound of her own flesh and skin expanding at an impossibly rapid rate. Her entire body was gaining more and more muscle mass at a freakishly fast rate. Li Hua looked down in horror as her already massive pectoral muscles thickened and bulged more and more outward, rapidly disintegrating her blouse. Her arms were rapidly growing to the size of watermelons, and didn't stop. Her entire frame became more and more massive as whatever trace of her feminine form was destroyed by her rapidly expanding muscles. The police, Graham and even the scientist watched in pure disbelief as the 17 year old girl before them rapidly turned into a muscle-bound hulk, gaining so much mass that it wasn't possible for any human.

She stared down at her transformed body and gasped with horror. The police simply looked back in fright and confusion, unable to stomach what they had just witnessed. The sergeant, with nervousness in his voice, demanded that Li Hua surrender, but the tone of his voice suggested he really didn't know what to do. The other policemen lowered their aim, unable to fully concentrate because of what they had just seen. To these men, the girl they were sent to arrest was not even a girl; not even human. To them, it was like being sent to exterminate a poisonous fungus, only to have the fungus transform into a dog. Li Hua, now seven feet in height and fully naked was in a complete daze. Graham, noticing the police were in a state of confusion, yelled at Li Hua to grab the scientist and get on the plane. Li Hua snapped to her senses, and sweeping her injured friend off the ground, made her way up the stairs into the plane. On the tarmac, the dumbfounded police could only watch as the muscle monster barely managed to squeeze through the plane's cabin door. One of the officers asked his sergeant what they were supposed to do now, to which his superior could only shake his head.

Back on the plane, Graham ordered his pilot to take off immediately. The plane slowly began to move, while Li Hua, unable to fit on any of the seats, sat down on the floor. She looked out the window, at the police who were simply staring back. They disappeared from visibility as the plane taxied down the runway. As the plane began to take off, she felt a hand on her shoulder. The scientist, strapped into the seat next to her, one hand pressing down on his gunshot wound, and the other patting her massive shoulder, whispered that things were going to be alright. The plane then became airborne, as Li Hua, spending her first time on an airplane, simply disconnected herself from the drama she endured since day one up till now. She looked out the window once more, seeing her homeland shrink as the plane got further away, and began thinking of the uncertain future that lay before her.

A Eurasian girl by the name of Dawn was born with a special genetic gift: she could build muscle mass with incredible ease and speed, well past human limits. This trait came into fruition at the end of her puberty, where she discovered that simple exercises yielded dramatic results, and her strength increased exponentially, allowing her to lift heavier weights and thus build muscle at a more rapid pace. She would eventually put on over a hundred pounds of bulk over the course of a year, with her body achieving peak muscularity by the time she turned 21. When she was invited onto a variety show to lift an enormous 800 kilogram barbell, Dawn discovered her body quickly adapted to the resistance of the weight by growing in muscle mass in a few seconds. This evolution in her genetic "gift" meant that she could potentially have unlimited strength. She would later achieve a degree of fame, and would travel to China for the Olympics, winning the United States a gold medal in weightlifting.

Her success piqued the interest of the Chinese Olympic Committee, who had Dawn swabbed for blood and urine samples. A team of scientists were assembled to find a way to "mass produce" Dawn's genetic gift into a serum, so the Chinese could apply it to their athletes in the future. Because the serum would contain genetic material derived from a female, it was decided that for safety reasons it be administered only to females in Dawn's age range. Eventually, a quantity of the "Dawn Serum" was derived, and tested on a 16 year old girl named Li Hua. The first thing the serum did to Li Hua was induce an uncontrollable urge to lift weights and gain muscle. The second thing it did was weaken the genetic barriers present in all females that kept them from developing large muscles. In a very short period of time, Li Hua transformed herself from a meek, skinny five foot girl into a six foot, hulking mass of muscle. Her athletic abilities skyrocketed as well. However, Li Hua's transformation invoked severe emotional trauma on her and her family. She was complete alienated from everyone around her and was seen as a freak. Still, the committee agreed that the serum was a complete success, and with more supervision, their future athletes would win more medals for China without attracting suspicion.

Li Hua was then brought to the States by a sympathetic scientist who had worked on the serum. She was put through many months of therapy and studying by American scientists trying to understand her condition and the serum that caused her muscle growth. While the condition she inherited was deemed to be permanent, she worked with both mental and physical therapists to slowly reduce her muscle mass to more manageable levels that allowed her to move about in public without arousing attention, as well as fight the urge to gain it all back with an out-of-control workout. Living under the Chinese scientist's roof, and enrolled in college, she started a new life and lived in peace. She would later meet Dawn, the girl whose DNA served as a catalyst for her physical change. Compared to Li Hua, who was now about the size of a medium-weight bodybuilder and weighed 140 pounds, Dawn had embraced her muscularity and was a good 300 pounds of muscle. The two became fast friends, and Dawn would help Li Hua come to terms with her ordeal and eased her into the more accepting and free-spirited American culture.

While Li Hua went on to live a stable life and leave the past behind her, the legacy of Dawn's "special" DNA would not die there. Back in China, the government's sports authority was now busy destroying evidence of the serum and all records of Li Hua. Now that their top secret "test subject" had been brought to the States, they had to get rid of anything that would jeopardize their standing with the Olympic Committee and their chances of Olympic gold in the future. However, one over-zealous member of the team that developed the "Dawn serum" managed to keep a sample of it. He had synthesized the serum before-hand; enough to fill up a syringe bottle, then sold it on the black market for a large sum of cash. The Dawn serum was then purchased by a sports and health pharmacy based in California called V-Fit, seeking to use it to develop a new line of protein powder.

Enter Jill Rhodes, an 18 year old girl studying at Portsdown High in Santa Monica. Jill stood about five feet and five inches tall, and had looks that many of the guys at school would go berserk over. She worked out daily, resulting in a body that was toned and athletic. She was also a part-time model, earning extra cash for herself by posing for teen magazines. In short, she was the ultimate high school boy's fantasy: blonde, blue eyes, pretty, and fit. Amongst many of the guys at Portsdown High, Jill was regarded at the top of the pyramid of the hottest girls to be associated with, in more ways than just friendship.

Despite her incredible looks, Jill was a rebel at heart, and regarded high school culture with disdain. She looked at the guys who constantly oggled at her as stereotypes, as mindless imbeciles who treated women as objects and not people. She viewed many of the girls who tried to befriend her based on her looks as equally shallow, only associating with other girls who looked as good as them. By being good looking herself, Jill was often "accepted" amongst the popular kids, and she would play her part and put up a facade of friendliness, albeit with an underlying tone of sarcasm and wit. Although she was regarded as one of the hottest girls on campus, Jill regularly turned down every request for a date, or any kind of physical encounter with a guy.

Jill was also fond of conducting acts of sabotage against who she perceived as the useful idiots whose sole purpose was to be victims for her amusement: the jocks, cheerleaders, bimbos, the preppy students, and so on. From planting stink bombs in the boy's locker room before football practice, to turning off the lights in the auditorium during a complicated cheerleading routine, to calling the police during parties filled with under-aged drinking, Jill was truly a hell-raiser for the high school stereotypes. Yet no one suspected her of any wrong-doing, because of her ability to make her victims think she was one of them.

Jill lived with her parents in Santa Monica. Her dad had to make frequent business trips to Shanghai, while her mum worked a regular 9 to 5 job and spent most of her time outside of her job doing more paper work at home. Life could get lonely for most kids in that situation, but for Jill it only instilled an independent and free-spirited personality. Fortunately, she kept a circle of very close friends who would sometimes participate in her antics. Her closest friend was Rhonda, whom she knew since middle school. Rhonda worked as an intern at the V-Fit Sports Pharmacy, hoping to advance a potential career in pharmaceuticals. After school and work she and Jill would often go to the gym together to work out, and on the weekends the two and their friends would all hang out. They were indeed a very close knit bunch.

Being an incredibly healthy and fit girl, even for her age, Jill was a gym rat. Her frequent trips to her local gym had not gone unnoticed, and she began to notice that many of the guys at the gym were spending more time staring at her than actually exercising. While she was on the treadmill, a line would form at the treadmills to her left and right. She enjoyed the attention she got and would frequently dress in revealing sports attire, which would drive some of the men to flat out flirt with her. Jill also had an obsession with health supplements. Every morning she would down a combination of herbal supplements, vitamin pills and so on, and before each meal would swallow a couple more. She even had a small pill box which she carried in her bag at all times. On occasion, she would have a protein shake. Most of her supplements were supplied by Rhonda, who regularly smuggled them out from the V-Fit stores while interning there. All in all, Jill saved nearly a thousand dollars thanks to Rhonda.

One Saturday at the mall, Jill and Rhonda were milling about the various shops when they came across a sports-wear shop. Rhonda remembered something and turned to her friend.

"Dude! I just found out V-Fit's coming out with this new all-in-one version of V-Ultra Gold...it’s supposed to handle everything for you, my boss was telling me how it’s the GNC killer...just all with one new thing."

"You serious?"

"Of course I'm serious, girl. It was totally kept under wraps until now, ‘cause they're putting it out in a couple months. They're calling it V-Ultra...Platinum.”

“Aw, you have to steal me some!”

“Seriously girl, the way my boss and all his friends were talking about it, I've never heard them sound so confident like this before. It’s fucking crazy."

"That sounds SO, awesome!! This sounds totally like a spy thing, you know? Is there some, I don’t know, super secret behind it? I mean there must be if they're getting such a hard-on over it."

"Oh oh yeah, there is! It's based on this herb...it's...unghh, damn it, why can't I remember?! Okay, like, I forgot the name, but they found it in China, up in some mountain or something, I dunno...but basically there's two versions of it they're gonna put out...the normal powder, and a liquid version.”

“Liquid-?”

“Dude, I know where they keep the liquid extracts...I was planning on swiping a couple of bottles and selling them to this guy I know...he says he'd buy 'em off me for nearly a grand each! Can you believe that shit?"

"Oh my gosh are you kidding? A grand? Why?!"

"He says that he worked with it in China but got fired, at least that's what he told me. Like, he said the main extract alone was good enough, like he said just a tiny bit of it is so powerful that all the other shit V-fit's putting into the final product is just to hinder the concentration so that people have to buy more of it regularly. Dude, he said one bottle of the main extract is enough for 20 bottles of the one V-fit's putting on sale!"

"Swipe me a bottle too?"

"You want one? You gonna pay me a grand for it?"

"Aw, come on, Rhon..."

"I'm just kidding you silly bitch! 'Course I'll get you one!"
