I love American female bodybuilders, but foreign female bodybuilders are the ones that truly brought sex appeal back to the American stage with uniquely exotic looks, stage presence, and performances. Marie Laure Mahabir, Muriane Nicolas, Laura Creavalle, Sharon Bruneau, Arminda (Latia) Del Riviero, Beate Drabing, Inna Uit, Hannie Van Aken, Claudia Montemaggi, Joanne McCartney, Yurie Iljima, Paula Suzuki, Julliette Bergman (the Bergman sisters), Santa Monica Souza, Andrulla Blanchette, Leilani Dalumpines, and the list goes on. Only if Jane Anderson and Tatiana Ionenko would have stepped foot in the American circuit?

I remember during my teen years coming home one day and my mother telling me how she read an article on a "French" woman who was from Guadeloupe in one of my magazines. My mother was ecstatic, because Guadeloupe is a neighboring island to where she is from, Martinique. Not to mention, we also have family in Guadeloupe. She picked up the magazine from the coffee table and showed me the article on Marie. I was left speechless. All I could do was smile and nod my head. My mother was impressed by how she looked and enjoyed her interview. Not once did she say anything demeaning about Marie's appearance and me having an interest in bodybuilding, which lead me to believe that she respected woman of her type. The moment was both intriguing and awkward.

Marie  was certainly a FBB to behold. I read a few articles about her during the early 1990's. She had the potential to be one of the best FBB in the world.
