A while back I threw together a compilation video in honour of the WPW 'Cinnamon Dress.'
I thought it was about time I paid similar homage to my second favourite piece of the WPW wardrobe, the 'silver lycra miniskirt.' Which I still think is white, but that's not really important. What IS important is, unlike the Cinnamon Dress, which clings like a second skin, the Silver/White dress is constantly fighting to escape. I realized this as I was sifting through the footage of the various FBB's who have worn it.
So, as a side project, a warm-up if you will, I decided to clip out all the moments where a woman is readjusting the dress. And there are more than a few. It varies from: Val Stauffer, who wore it like it was made for her - in over 10 minutes of posing she only adjusted the dress once, to the subtle adjustments of Joan Bovino, to the massive fabric re-location exercise Liza Larence went through every time she had to recover her enormous superstructure to Pavla Brantalova with the opposite problem, not enough chest to keep the dress up and finally to Hannie Van Aken, who basically went to war with it.
